Sailing Trips from St. Croix to Buck Island
We sail two catamarans: Wave Dancer, a 32 ft custom-built sailing catamaran for up to 16 guests, and Inconceivable, a 42 ft Leopard sailing catamaran for up to 12. Join the Full Day Sail with other guests, or charter either boat for your own group. The sail itself is part of the day: plan on about an hour and a half to Buck Island, depending on the wind.

Sail with a Small Group: the Full Day Sail
Six hours aboard Wave Dancer: an hour-plus sail to Buck Island, a guided snorkel of the underwater trail, then the most time on Turtle Beach of any trip we run, to swim, relax or hike to the overlook. We stay at Buck Island instead of leaving for a lunch stop, so bring your own lunch. Want to learn to sail? Just ask your captain.
Adults 18+ $125, Young Adults 0–17 $105, daily at 9:30 am. Wave Dancer is boarded by a ladder, so it isn’t recommended for very young children or limited mobility; with little ones, the Half Day Snorkel aboard Celebration is easier (Young Adults 3–17 $75, Tiny Humans 0–2 free).

Do I need sailing experience?
No. Your U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain and crew sail the boat. Want to learn to sail? Just ask your captain.
How long does it take to sail to Buck Island?
On the Full Day Sail it’s an hour-plus sail to Buck Island. On a private sail it’s about 1.5 hours, depending on the wind. Under power, Celebration gets there in about 30 minutes.
How much is a private sailing charter in St. Croix?
Per boat: $750 for a 2-hour private sunset sail on Wave Dancer or Inconceivable, $1,650 for a 4-hour half day sail on Inconceivable, $1,750 for a 6-hour full day on Wave Dancer and $2,050 for a 6-hour full day on Inconceivable.
Is lunch included on the Full Day Sail?
No. The Full Day Sail stays at Buck Island instead of leaving for a lunch stop, so bring the food and drinks you like. Water, soda and a complimentary rum punch are included.
Is Wave Dancer good for young children?
Wave Dancer is boarded by a 4-step dive ladder, the only way on and off once we leave the dock, so it isn’t recommended for very young children or guests with limited mobility. Please make sure everyone is comfortable using the ladder before booking.
Where do the sailing trips leave from?
Wave Dancer departs from Christiansted now and from Green Cay Marina starting Nov 1, 2026. Inconceivable departs from Green Cay Marina, C Dock, Slip 32.
