How do I get to Buck Island from St. Croix?
By boat. Caribbean Sea Adventures is an authorized National Park Service concessioner, and our Buck Island tours leave from Christiansted and Green Cay Marina: the half day cruise always departs from Christiansted harbor, and many private charters leave from Green Cay Marina. For all other tours, please check your confirmation for your departure point, or call us at (340) 773-2628 with any questions.
What’s included on the half day Buck Island snorkel tour?
Snorkel gear and lessons, a guided tour of the underwater trail, time on Turtle Beach, national park fees, drinking water, and Cruzan Rum Punch on the cruise back (outside the park boundaries). Crew gratuity isn’t included; 20–25% is recommended.
What if I’ve never snorkeled before?
No worries! We’ll teach you how to snorkel and help you feel comfortable, and a guide will be in the water with you. We’re happy to assist guests with physical limitations to the best of our ability. Watch our free Virtual Snorkel Lesson with Captain Key on YouTube before you go.
Can I book a Buck Island tour from a cruise ship?
Yes. Check your docking and all-aboard times first (we run on local time, not ship time). We’re on the boardwalk in Christiansted, about a 40-minute taxi ride from the Frederiksted port, and we don’t provide port transportation. See St. Croix cruise ship excursions.
What should I bring?
Snacks or lunch, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, a beach towel and your bathing suit. Don’t forget cash for tipping your crew. Snorkel gear is provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own.
What is your cancellation policy?
For public trips, cancel 48 hours or more ahead for a 100% refund, or within 48 hours for a 50% refund; day-of cancellations and no-shows are not refunded. Private charters: 48 hours or more ahead for a 100% refund. If we cancel for weather, we’ll reschedule or refund you in full.
