How much does a private boat charter cost in St. Croix?
Our private Buck Island charters start at $900 for Smooth Recovery (3 hours, base rate for a small group, +$100 for each additional guest from 7 to 12). Inconceivable and Good Times are $1,650 for 4 hours, Wave Dancer is $1,750 for 6 hours, Mile Mark is $1,800 for 4 hours, and Celebration is $3,420 for 3.5 hours. Every price is for the whole boat, not per person.
Which boat is best for my group?
Up to 12 guests: Smooth Recovery (fast Boston Whaler 320 Outrage), Inconceivable (sailing catamaran) or Good Times (power catamaran). Up to 16: Wave Dancer. Up to 30: Celebration, with a walk-up bar and full bathroom (31 on a private sunset). Up to 40: Mile Mark, our classic boat with lots of shade. Call (340) 773-2628 and we’ll help you choose.
Where do private charters leave from?
Smooth Recovery, Inconceivable and Good Times leave from Green Cay Marina, east of Christiansted. Celebration and Mile Mark depart from Christiansted and can also pick you up elsewhere on request. Wave Dancer departs from Christiansted now and from Green Cay Marina starting Nov 1, 2026. With several boats departing from both Christiansted and Green Cay Marina, please check your confirmation for your departure point, or call us at (340) 773-2628 with any questions.
What’s included on a private charter?
Your captain and crew, snorkel gear and a lesson, national park fees, water and soda, and rum punch on the way home (served outside the park boundaries). Food isn’t included, so bring snacks or lunch, or ask us about catering.
Can we plan our own itinerary?
Yes. Snorkel, beach, hike or all three: we’re happy to accommodate any request as long as it doesn’t violate a National Park Service regulation. Caribbean Sea Adventures is an authorized NPS concessioner at Buck Island.
Our group is too big for one boat. What can we do?
We can put more than one of our six boats on the water together. Call (340) 773-2628 to arrange a multi-boat departure.
Do you offer private sunset cruises?
Yes: Smooth Recovery, Wave Dancer, Inconceivable and Good Times from $750 per boat, and Celebration for $1,500. See our sunset charters for details.
What is the cancellation policy for private charters?
Every private charter has the same window: cancel 48 hours or more ahead for a 100% refund. Inside that window there’s no refund, and no-shows are billed in full. The Wave Dancer, Inconceivable and Good Times private sunsets refund 50% inside 48 hours. If we cancel for weather, we’ll reschedule or refund you in full.
Is gratuity included?
Crew gratuity isn’t included on most charters; 20–25% is the recommended rate. It is included on Celebration private charters.
